As Lead Civil Structural Engineer you manage the design and development of CSA engineering packages based on the client's demands. You coordinate engineering and construction contractors and provide them with support for technical queries.

The Lead Civil Structural Engineer vacancy is initially for an estimated 12 months (project duration). This may lead to a permanent position or extension of the contract.

You will be working for an international engineering company that has both local and foreign projects. You will mostly be working for local clients initially.

Wat ga je doen als Lead Civil Structural Engineer?

• Prepares the scope of work, subcontracts, resource planning, progress reports and manage change control;
• Controls if work has been executed sufficiently within the schedule, budget and quality (in regards of the objectives);
• Bears the responsibility for the overall supervision and leadership of discipline project teams of Engineers and Designers;
• Develops and coaches junior Engineers in relation to the project team;
• Provide engineering support to engineering and/or construction contractors;
• Maintains communication with all members of the project team and external stakeholders;
• Ensures that all executed work and activities are being done by all applicable codes and standards;
• Generates proposals in order to enhance the amount of projects;
• Perform risk analyses and advise on preventative and/or corrective maintenance activities;
• Pro-actively identifies issues that affect project progress and reports this to Discipline Manager and/or Project Manager;
• Improve the internal procedures and working methods.

Wat neem je mee?

• You are located in the Netherlands and/or have a valid work permit in the Netherlands;
• Ability to speak Dutch fluently;
• Bachelor or Master degree in civil engineering;
• Experienced professional regarding CSA engineering;
• Proven experience in a lead role, including experience in managing financial aspects (man-hour estimates and margin goals), schedule and progress, and striving for innovation;
• Experience with handing multiple projects simultaneously;
• Site experience (field engineering, construction management, commissioning of industrial buildings and structures);
• Able to do produce calculations for structural steel and concrete;
• Familiarity with STAAD is preferred;
• You are able to express yourself in English (both verbal and in writing);
• You are able to communicate sufficiently with various stakeholders;
• You are experienced in handling multi-office projects;
• You are very keen on safety and the application of it;
• Flexible attitude towards travelling worldwide.
